May 2008 - iter8 Inc., an insurance software solutions vendor, is pleased to announce the successful integration and validation of iter8's Automated Exception-Based Underwriting product suite with IBM's WebSphere Portal Server and DB2 Express-C 9.5.
This builds upon earlier work in the fall of 2007 where iter8 communic8 and collabor8 components achieved IBM's "SOA Connect" status. iter8 worked side by side with the sales, marketing and technical experts at the IBM Innovation Center at San Mateo, California to ensure the delivery of this product offering.
These integrations will enable insurance carriers using IBM middleware to run iter8's flagship personal lines broker and underwriter portal and improve underwriting efficiency and consistency through automation. WebSphere Portal Server and WebSphere Application Server are in place at numerous insurance carriers, serving as the insurance industries main provider of SOA web services and internal and external-facing portals.
iter8 software automates and manages the underwriting process. This includes agent/broker connectivity solutions, underwriting automation, workflow management, underwriting rules management and third party data integration. iter8 solutions reduce manual underwriting in both Personal and Commercial Lines, freeing underwriters from administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on more complex and profitable accounts. In addition customer service levels are enhanced, as brokers and agents are provided ease-of-doing-business in a flexible, real-time manner while remotely connected to the insurance carrier.
