Job Description
The iter8 Project Manager acts as the single point of management control for all services relating to customers in consulting engagements to deploy iter8's insurance solutions. The Project Manager exhibits a broad knowledge of all service offerings from iter8. He or she makes executive presentations on project plans and project status to Customer and iter8 Management. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of IT project management experience with demonstrated skills in planning and execution. Property and Casualty Insurance experience would be useful. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be willing to travel (up to 100%). Majority of the travel will be within the Greater Toronto Area, with the balance within North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting iter8 management in preparing project estimates, statements of work and proposal material, as assigned.
- Interfacing with Customer and third party Project Managers in the planning and execution of implementation projects.
- Reviewing project objectives and requirements.
- Establishing detailed Project Work Plans with Customer and iter8 management showing schedules, deliverables and personnel assignments; thus defining the baseline required for monitoring the progress of the project.
- Establishing project escalation procedures with the customer.
- Providing specific direction to the project's organization.
- Initiating and conducting project review meetings with the Customer Management and other Customer personnel.
- Obtaining periodic reports on actual progress made as compared to approved plans and evaluating progress for potential hazards to cost, schedule or scope objectives.
- Advising Customer and Management of the project status, of significant developments, and of potential problems which could adversely affect the contractual commitment.
- Initiating remedial action on all unsatisfactory conditions and promptly advising Customer and iter8 Management of the corrective action.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience in business and information technology.
- Knowledge and experience in project management processes and techniques, as defined in the Project Management Institute PMBOK. PMP certification is desirable.
- Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance projects would be useful.
- Ability to effectively write documentation and correspondence, verbally communicate, and actively listen.
- Comfortable in presenting ideas in group sessions.
- Strong problem solving ability.
