Job Description
Business Consultant Overview: Solves complex software problems within broad guidelines and initiates new technical directions for software development. Supports the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of an integrated process model for product development. Contributes to the development of concepts and processes as they relate to software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design process or may be assigned to develop specific products or product enhancements.
- Resource to other development and support groups.
- Required to comprehend large, complex software systems.
- Required to specify functionality and scope enhancements to new or existing solutions.
- Will have sole responsibility for complex product areas.
- Serve as business authority for specific areas.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry information.
- Conducts independent research and analysis into highly complex, unique problems.
- Acts as a leader to a group of consultants working on a specific project, and contribute to planning, scheduling and monitoring achievements to objectives and costs to budget.
- May provide guidance and leadership to less experienced staff as supervisor and/or project leader with a requirement to provide input to the performance review process and to establish objectives.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized degree program or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of five years industry experience.
- Ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present highly complex material in an effective, clear and concise manner
- Ability to analyze complex information and situations and exercise judgment and business expertise when determining appropriate action or solution.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks. .
- Ability to manage several tasks concurrently
