Job Description
iter8 is seeking a Business Consultant with domain expertise in Property & Casualty Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriting and Distribution to become a leading member of the Professional Services team. This team is responsible for assisting iter8’s clients in fulfilling their Personal and Commercial lines automation needs including: requirements definition, business rules, user testing, workflow process definition and to assist in leading the successful implementation of the iter8 solutions. In addition, the ideal candidate will contribute to the design process and may be assigned to assist in the development of specific products or product enhancements. The position reports to the VP, Product Innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate input from internal and external customers, specify functionality and scope enhancements to new or existing P&C software products and solutions.
- Demonstrate leadership in identifying and resolving issues that assist clients in deploying iter8 solutions.
- Serve as business authority in the areas of Personal and Commercial Lines Underwriting, Sales & Service, Submissions, and Policy administration solutions and product areas.
- Serve as a Lead Business Resource to development and support groups.
- As a domain expert in P&C underwriting and distribution, contribute to the design process and may be assigned to assist in the development of specific products or product enhancements.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry information through independent research and analysis into highly complex, unique problems.
Education/Experience
Graduation from a recognized degree program or the equivalent combination of training and experience. A minimum of ten years P&C insurance industry experience, with preference given to candidates having a combination of business and technical roles.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience working with XML, XSLT and web deployments is an asset.
- Strong results-oriented focus.
- Must be organized and have a strong eye for detail, in order to prioritize, organize, and manage the successful completion of several tasks concurrently.
- Ability to write, represent and communicate highly complex material in a clear and concise manner in the form of business requirements.
- Ability to analyze complex information and situations, exercising good judgment and business expertise when determining appropriate actions or solutions.
- Ability to estimate the planned effort and scope of the tasks, then plan your work to meet the estimated deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to make effective complex industry presentations.
- Experience working with XML, XSLT and web deployment is an asset.
